摘要: Posttranscriptional regulation is of fundamental importance for establishing the gene expression programs that determine sexual identity in fruitfly Drosophila melanogaster. The protein Sex-lethal acts as a master regulatory switch, being expressed exclusively female flies and inducing female-specific patterns alternative splicing on target genes. As consequence, other factors are sex-specific manner, these control somatic germline differentiation, behavior X chromosome dosage compensation. Here, we review molecular mechanisms responsible determination.
