摘要: Following entry into host cells intracellular pathogens must simultaneously evade innate defense mechanisms and acquire energy anabolic substrates from the nutrient-limited environment. Most of potential nutrient sources are stored within complex macromolecules that not immediately accessible by pathogens. To obtain nutrients for proliferation, compete with cell newly-imported simple or degrade storage structures their constituent components (fatty acids, carbohydrates, amino acids). It is becoming increasingly evident have evolved a wide variety strategies to accomplish this task. One recurrent microbial strategy exploit degradative processes break down microbe can use. Herein we focus on how subset bacterial, viral, eukaryotic leverage process autophagy support growth infected cells.
