摘要: Abstract The degradation of Orange G, a monoazo dye, in aqueous solutions was investigated using Fe-Ni bimetallic nanoparticles. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) as-synthesized nanoparticles showed the presence spherical particles having size 20–40 nm. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) did not detect nickel on nanoparticle surface, which suggested uniform distribution both metals inside particle core. Batch experiments with minimum nanocatalyst loading 3 g/L complete dye after 10 min reaction time. efficiency linearly dependent initial concentration, pH solution and total catalyst concentration. increased increasing concentration decreasing solution, but decreased an increase rate followed first order kinetics respect to High performance liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (HPLC–MS) analysis products revealed that mechanism proceeds through reductive cleavage azo linkage resulting formation aniline surface-adsorbed naphthol amine derivatives. latter are subsequently hydroxylated oxidative process.
