摘要: PETiPIX is an ultra high spatial resolution small animal PET scanner designed for scanning of mouse brains. It utilises four state the art pixellated silicon detectors, Timepix, in edge-on configuration to provide a field view (FoV) 15 mm diameter. Each Timepix detector consists 256×256 pixels, with pixel dimensions 55µm×55µm×300µm. Monte Carlo simulations have been carried evaluate performance proposed scanner. The simulated achieved overall 0.29 (measuring at full width half maximum (FWHM)) sensitivity 0.01%. Two separate phantom studies (hot and cold Jaszczk phantom) performed their results demonstrate that capable achieving across its FoV. Preliminary experiments recording recoil electrons tracks from Compton scattering events agree simulation results. Experiments involving two synchronised modules 68Ga point source placed centre FoV demonstrated capability prototype record true coincidence events.
