摘要: Increased deposition of atmospheric N largely from intensive agriculture is affecting biodiversity and the composition natural semi-natural vegetation in Europe. The value species based bioindicators such as Ellenberg index measurements total tissue free amino acids key plant species, described with reference to a mixed woodland downwind livestock farm Scottish Borders, operated for over 20 years measured spatial gradient ammonia concentration (29–1.5 μg m−3). All indicators examined showed relationship provided some indication change. Total arginine concentrations were most closely linked deposition, r2 values >0.97 >0.78 respectively.
