摘要: The analog method (AM) has found application to reconstruct gridded climate fields from the information provided by proxy data and model simulations. Here, we test skill of different setups AM, in a controlled but realistic situation, analysing several statistical properties reconstructed daily high-resolution atmospheric for Northern Europe 50-yr period. In this application, station observations sea-level pressure air temperature are combined with regional simulation. This reconstruction aims at providing homogeneous physically consistent resolution suitable drive high ocean ecosystem models. Different settings AM evaluated study period 1958–2007 estimate robustness its ability replicate low-frequency variability, probability distributions extremes meteorological variables. It is shown that can realistically variables strong physical link on both monthly scale. However, decadal longer variations, additional mean as predictor required. Our results suggest upscaling tool predict taken simulations based sparse historical data.
