摘要: Epidemiological and experimental studies have overwhelmingly confirmed human papillomaviruses as important causal agents in anogenital carcinogenesis. A role for has also been proposed a diverse range of other malignancies, particular interest focused on non-melanoma skin cancer, the commonest malignancy fair-skinned populations worldwide. Although evidence this is considerably less convincing than epidemiological functional data emerged over past year that furthered our understanding possible contribution to cancer. papillomavirus DNA detection shown associations with but emphasized ubiquity epidermodysplasia verruciformis types normal skin, hair follicles benign hyperproliferative disorders, seroepidemiological approaches. Functional investigations demonstrated mechanistically relevant interactions between virus ultraviolet radiation, host cytokines cellular proteins including p53 pro-apoptotic protein Bak. Taken together, these advanced malignant transformation cutaneous keratinocytes, further research required before association cancer reliably confirmed.
