摘要: To evaluate comparatively lobectomy and wedge resection for carcinoma of the lung, we reviewed retrospectively 1,000 consecutive cases lung cancer at a Veterans Administration Hospital. Of these cases, 252 were operable; 199 resectable. Thirty-three patients underwent their lesion as primary treatment. The indications (1) insufficient pulmonary reserve, (2) resectable cerebral metastasis, (3) frozen-section results reportedly benign. One hundred twelve standard procedures. patients, 40 comparable to those undergoing on basis age, histopathological examination, tumor size location, presence metastatic disease. One, 2, 5 year survival rates 85%, 58%, 26%, respectively, 75%, 55%, 25%, lobectomy. operative mortality rate was 0% 5% These indicate that patient with peripheral no evidence disease offers minimal risk death.
