Photodegradation of three benzotriazoles induced by four Fe III -carboxylate complexes in water under ultraviolet irradiation

摘要: The effects of Fe III -carboxylate complexes on the photodegradation three benzotriazoles (BTs), i.e. benzotriazole (BT), 5-methylbenzotriazole (5-TTri) and 5-chlorobenzotriazole (CBT) in aqueous solutions were investigated under exposure to UV irradiation at 254nm presence four carboxylate ions (oxalate, tartrate,succinateandcitrate).TheresultsshowedthatthepresenceofFe -carboxylatecomplexessignificantlyenhanced rates all selected BTs. BT, 5-TTri CBT followed first-order reaction kinetics with half-lives ranging from 0.57 3.98h for 6.08 8.25h 2.63 5.50h systems -carboxylatecomplexes. In comparison, ranged between 3.40 and4.81hfor 6.42 11.55h 4.13 6.79h pure solution or carboxylate. degradation these BTs dependent pH values, type / ratios. Both BT showed highest shortest respective 2.63h initial /oxalate ratio 10/200mmolL � 1 3, whereas had rate half life 6.08h /succinate 10/10mmolL .
