摘要: In the present study, modulatory effects of Gymnema montanum leaves on glycoprotein levels in alloxan-induced diabetic rats were examined. The ethanol extract G was administered orally (200 mg/kg body weight) for 3 weeks. effect blood glucose, plasma insulin, and plasma/tissue glycoproteins compared with that a reference drug, glibenclamide (600 μg/kg weight). glucose increased significantly, whereas insulin sialic acid decreased rats. hexose, hexosamine, fucose liver kidney alloxan-diabetic significantly. Oral administration to reversed these hyperglycemia-induced biochemical changes. observed antihyperglycemic found be positively correlated total phenolic content extract. study indicates possess significant beneficial moiety addition its antidiabetic effect. Thus, results indicate positive role as therapeutic agent diabetes.
