摘要: PURPOSE To investigate the effect on gastric emptying of intermittent exercise at varying intensities such as occurs during a soccer match. METHODS We compared rate carbohydrate-electrolyte (CE) drink two 15-min periods competitive 5-a-side indoor match separated by 10 min and low-intensity walking exercise. Seven healthy male subjects, all whom regularly played soccer, completed study. Exercise intensity each trial was calculated from heart recordings. Subjects ingested 500 mL CE immediately before starting period. Before after completing period, contents were aspirated volume recorded. Ambient room temperature ranged 16-22 degrees C humidity 57-72% both trials. RESULTS Mean +/- SD higher Soccer than Walking time points. to be 54 23% 63 20% VO2max, respectively, for first second 13 9% 12 11% trial. During period exercise, greater (median (range)) emptied stomach (247 (102-361 mL)) (84 (17-230 mL); P = 0.022). In however, rates not different (P 0.16) between (104-363 (148 (17-293 mL)). CONCLUSION As indicated rate, overall an appears moderate. The pattern activity is with low level punctuated short bursts high-intensity sprinting. present study demonstrates that this type sufficient slow emptying.
