摘要: Brain serotonin influences food intake and mood. It is synthesised from tryptophan (Trp) of which uptake in the brain dependent on plasma ratio to sum other large neutral amino acids (Trp-LNAA). A carbohydrate-rich diet increases this ratio, whereas a protein-rich decreases it. Yet, if protein source alpha-lactalbumin increases. is, however, unknown whether also happens context regular (15% protein). We studied effect an supplement combined with Trp-LNAA serum prolactin (marker synthesis), intake, appetite, macronutrient preference Eighteen healthy males participated double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled, crossover study. One hour after breakfast they received drink containing carbohydrates (AS) or (PS) only. Plasma prolactin, mood were assessed before 90 min consumption supplement. Changes differed (P<.001) between both supplements, increasing by 16% AS decreasing 17% PS. Decrease was slightly smaller than PS (P=.083). Appetite, did not differ supplements. conclude that alpha-lactalbumin-enriched may influence but we could demonstrate effects
