摘要: Results concerning the design and fabrication of electromagnetic actuators, their application to affect wall shear stress in a fully turbulent channel flow are discussed. The actuators utilize Lorentz force induce fluid motion due interaction between magnetic field current density. comprised spanwise-aligned rows permanent magnets interlaced with surface-mounted electrodes, segmented allow be propagated spanwise direction. Problems commonly associated control—electrolysis, bubble formation, electrode corrosion substantially reduced, most cases eliminated by use conductive polymer coating. generate velocity profiles penetration depth into approximately 1 mm (set electrode/magnet pitch) maximum velocities 4 cm/s. actuation found scale linearly forcing voltage frequency. electrical t...
