摘要: Abstract A new enzyme, tetrahydromethanopterin methyltransferase, which catalyzes the transfer of methyl groups from methyl-tetrahydromethanopterin to 2-mercaptoethane-sulfonate, has been found in methane synthesizing complex Methanobacterium thermoautotrophicum . The enzyme is oxygen sensitive and a well defined pH optimum at 6.7. There was no group when heated 100° for 5 min. product forward reaction, methyl-CoM, positively identified by TLC high voltage paper electrophoresis. demethylation absence synthesis, dependent on addition H4MPT suggests that reaction reversible.
