摘要: There is a paucity of information in the literature concerning metabolic changes that occur endosperm, scutellum, and embryonic axis during germination oorn. The work Toole (20) constitutes major exception, although this was more concerned with morphological than chemical constituents metabolism. Although seed has been studied extensively (3, 13, 21) much whole seed, which may obscure occurring embryo or parts. In other instances conducted an isolated organ tissue, single constituent, particular class enzymes. recent years emphasis placed on effect light, inhibitors, dormancy germination. This investigation prompted by lack data time sequence changes, andl interrelationship these endlosperm, germinating corn. Furthermore it hoped results obtained would serve as standard for further studies applied treatments. fresh dry weight, nitrogen fractions, sugars, fats, nucleic acids 5-day period are presented. These discussed relation to role endosperm scutellum supplying components developing axis.
