摘要: Abstract The plate boundary between the North American and Pacific plates along westernmost portion of Aleutian arc is formed by several active, dextral strike-slip fracture zones. Fracturing expressed fault escarpments visible in reflection seismic profiles, narrow zones high seismicity. seismicity changes from arc, where shallow earthquakes occur, to intermediate deep Kamchatka–Aleutian junction area south. In vicinity this junction, distribution follows traces major down a depth 100 km. South Kronotsky Peninsula, similar other subduction cut western into individual blocks, which move faults west collide with Kamchatka. Related transtension transpression has led development pull-apart basins block tilting. splay numerous west, they meet Kamchatka margin. main system can be traced on Mys deformed Pleistocene sediments, uplift rates, recent thrust faulting, drainage provide evidence for neotectonic activity. pattern onshore offshore supports an indentation tectonic model collision slivers
