Positional Changes of the Mandible and the Upper and Lower Anterior Teeth After Oblique Sliding Osteotomy of the Mandibular Rami: A Roentgen-cephalometric Study of 55 Patients

摘要: Oblique sliding osteotomy of the mandibular rami was performed on 55 patients with prognathism. They were followed-up for positional changes mandible and upper lower anterior teeth at predetermined intervals up to 2 1/2 years. Two kinds occurred, viz. rotation shortening mainly during intermaxillary fixation period, an movement, most pronounced after end period half a year operation. The movements moderate. height face remained unchanged, while posterior decreased in connection operation immobilisation. analysed any correlation preoperative morphology skull. During immobilisation both jaws underwent retroclination, those jaw also extrusion. Both types tooth movement regressed afterwards.
