摘要: Abstract The effects of altering litter and nutrient loading on above-ground production, content borer infestation Typha angustifolia L. were studied with a 3-year field experiment. In replicated plots, was either removed, replaced plastic strips (pseudolitter), increased 3-fold or left unaltered. One set plots received fortnightly surface applications ammonium phosphate solution at rate totaling 65 g N m −2 72 P annually. Peak biomass by addition, except in the third year experiment when peak all low, possibly due to high salinity that year. additions also decreased flowering, concentrations plant tissues, frequency shoot boring noctuid larvae. manipulations seem be attributable physical structure layer rather than decomposition process. Plots neither nor pseudolitter showed enhanced incorporation added fruits, colonized herbaceous dicotyledons Lilaeopsis chinensis (L.) Kuntze Pluchea purpurascens (Swartz) DC. receiving extra developed thick enough suppress growth
