摘要: An overview on the Late Triassic-Early Jurassic Magmatic Province of Morocco and Portugal (TJMPMP) is presented. It comprises extrusive basalts, interbedded with clastic rocks sequences preserved in elongated rift basins, their feeder dikes sills. Paleontologic ages range from Upper Ladinian-Lower Carnian to Sinemurian for sediments, while available 40 Ar/ 39 Ar analysis yield a mean age 200±1,6 Ma volcanics. The volcanologic characteristics TJMPMP are those continental basaltic successions. subaerial lava flows pyroclastic deposits, sometimes deposited lacustrine environments, dikes, constituting an interesting volcanic sub-province Central Atlantic (CAMP) as most outcrops These correspond Low-Ti (TiO 2 11 suggesting that source may be within lithospheric mantle. nucleation rifting process have started at two different triple junctions, RRR junction near Florida RRT between Africa-Iberia-America.
