摘要: Abstract The advent of the twenty-first century finds us with many reasons to consider scenarios for global change and air pollution in concert. During decade 1980s, there were large research efforts Europe North America focused on ecological consequences acidic deposition. These efforts, however, largely ignored climate change. 1990s, similar major initiated globally a focus At this point, has been limited understanding interactions multiple factors, including pollution, insects diseases, even fewer attempts incorporate such factors into modeled projections impacts forest distribution or productivity. Twenty-first changes spatial patterns quality will not only be driven by natural weather variability, but also demographics, land use, economic growth. may result quite different global, regional (continental), subregional scale from those observed over past century. Changes both are dynamic processes that influence each other, develop time. Because inherent uncertainties knowledge affected, our magnitude responses equally uncertain. For community scientists engaged relationships among change, health productivity, need landowners other decision-makers science-based adaptive strategies should challenge us, makes compelling case an aggressive agenda.
