Balancing service and education: linking community health centers and family practice residency programs.

摘要: Many medical educators are calling for an increased emphasis on ambulatory care training, but financial constraints often cited as impediments to developing training sites. A growing number of family practice residency programs (FPRPs) affiliating with community and migrant health centers (C/MHCs). This movement has the potential strengthen community-based while addressing some concerns noted above. article illustrates how FPRPs can establish mutually beneficial linkages C/MHCs, operating within policy parameters established by Residency Review Committee (RRC) Bureau Health Care Delivery Assistance (BHCDA). For this occur, BHCDA C/MHCs need calculate time required attending physicians supervise residents contribute legitimate educational teaching needs FPRP.
