摘要: Summary A 59Fe labelled preparation has been used to follow the distribution and fate of intravenously administered iron-dextran (Imferon) in 10 patients with iron deficiency anaemia three non-anaemic adult female subjects. In all anaemic a satisfactory reticulocyte response occurred peak between 8th 10th day, was followed by progressive maintained rise haemoglobin. The mean weekly haemoglobin increments for first 3 weeks were 1.9, 1.6 0.7 g. had reached normal levels 9th week. Surface scintillation counting showed increasing radioactivity over liver, spleen sacrum up end 1st week, gradual decrease during next 2 so that 21st day these sites fallen below initial values. sternal counts dropped then levelled off thereafter slow but increase. findings subjects did not differ significantly from those patients. There no general systemic reactions or after infusions, nor there evidence disturbance renal hepatic function. Local venous thrombosis two patients. Iron-dextran is well tolerated when given intravenously. stability compound shown absence untoward symptoms immediate post-infusion period plasma are very high. haematological rapid complete, results compare favourably obtained other methods therapy.
