摘要: Compared to organelle genomes, the nuclear genome comprises a vast reservoir of genes that potentially harbor phylogenetic signal. Despite valuable data sequencing projects model systems offer, relatively few single-copy are being used in systematics. In part this is due challenges inherent generating orthologous sequences, problem ameliorated when gene family question has been characterized related organisms. Here we illustrate utility diverse sequence databases within Asteraceae as framework for developing useful inferring phylogenies tribe Senecioneae. We highlight process searching informative by using from Helianthus annuus, Lactuca sativa, Stevia rebaudiana, Zinnia elegans, and Gerbera cultivar. Emerging were several candidate genes; two these assessment Senecioneae compared other previously phylogenies. Based on preliminary sampling used, one selected during was more than Asteraceae. The search strategy described valid any group plants but its efficiency dependent proximity study species represented databases.
