Changes in rumen biohydrogenation intermediates and ciliate protozoa diversity after algae supplementation to dairy cattle

摘要: During an in vivo trial with four rumen-fistulated dairy cows, the effect of dietary supplementation docosahexaenoic acid (DHA; 22:6 n-3)-enriched microalgae (Schizochytrium sp., 2% on feed intake) fatty metabolism and microbial community rumen was investigated. Algal resulted lower concentrations saturated acids while monounsaturated polyunsaturated increased as compared to control treatment. An incomplete biohydrogenation linoleic (18:2 n-6) linolenic (18:3 n-3) observed, resulting a strong accumulation 18:1 t11, 18:1t10 18:2 t11c15. Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) performed study bacterial ciliate population. provoked changes both communities. Ciliate DGGE profiles suggested decreased abundance Isotricha prostoma I. intestinalis some species Epidinium caudatum, Eudiplodinium maggii Diplodinium dentaturn algae-fed cows. Moreover, quantitative PCR indicated that through algal addition associated numbers. The simultaneous hydrogenation intermediates disappearance ciliates suggest and/or their bacteria could play role biohydrogenation.
