摘要: The allelopathic potential of red pine (Pinus densiflora), pitch rigida) and black thunbergii) has attracted attention Korean botanists for the last several years. It been a point interest why understorey species are sparse (Lee Monsi, 1963) growing there were similar with other understoreys. was hypothesized that similarity floristic composition stands caused by some regulating mechanism controlled through release certain toxic substances (allelochemicals) in soil. When greenhouse soil mixed leaves, growth plants suppressed. However, toxicity gradually reduced, ultimately diminished after This further strengthened idea possible allelochemicals pine. Therefore, it deemed necessary to verify experimentally whether is indeed producing which, turn, affect neighbouring plants. For this, experiments performed involving various inside outside forests. results obtained from laboratory field studies respect effects details isolation materials reported here.
