Selective oxidation of carbon monoxide in hydrogen-rich mixtures by permeation through a platinum-loaded Y-type zeolite membrane

摘要: Abstract A defect-free Y-type zeolite membrane was synthesized on the inner surface of a porous α-alumina support tube (i.d.=1.7 mm, o.d.=2.1 mm) by hydrothermal process. The ion-exchanged with an aqueous 2.5 mmol l−1 solution [Pt(NH3)4]Cl2 to give Pt-loaded (PtY membrane), obtained calcination in air and reduction flow H2. PtY then applied reactor system for selective oxidation carbon monoxide, which included H2 at concentration 104 ppm. total pressure feed permeate sides maintained atmospheric pressure, side swept inert gas. flux through independent O2 feed. When rate 1.2 times that CO, CO decreased less than 8 ppm temperatures 200–250°C. steam added 2%, fluxes remained fundamentally unchanged.
