摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the current developments and future research in catalytic membrane reactors. Catalytic reactors have been fully demonstrated at laboratory scale, most important systems studied being dehydrogenation oxidation reaction. Membrane combine two different functions—that is, reaction separation into a single operation. Solid oxide type membranes are dense inorganic that used reactor applications. These materials (solid electrolytes) also finding widespread application area of fuel cells as electrochemical oxygen pumps sensors. The applications involve equilibrium-limited reactions efficient removal hydrogen. To facilitate transport across studies, sweep gas or vacuum permeate side pressure gradient is applied membrane. use solid partial aims to avoid complete desired products. When compared similar efforts using microporous membranes, disadvantage (except for take place high temperatures) because through lattice generally low when with permeability porous materials.
