摘要: Objective. This study assessed 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) issues for a programmable infusion pump and associated catheters. Methods. A catheters (MedStream Programmable Infusion Pump, 40 mL; SureStream TI Coil-Reinforced Intraspinal Catheter; Connector; Silicone Codman Shurtleff Inc., Johnson & Company, Raynham, MA, USA) underwent evaluation field interactions (deflection angle torque), heating (transmit/receive body radiofrequency coil; whole-body averaged specific absorption rate, 3 W/kg 15 min), functional changes (before after MRI using eight different conditions), artifacts (T1-weighted spin-echo gradient-echo pulse sequences) at 3-Tesla. Results. The exhibited minor interactions. Heating was not excessive (≤ 1.9°), especially considering the experimental conditions used this (ie, relatively high power/specific rate level use of nonperfused phantom). function three out six pumps temporarily altered by exposures to conditions. Reset achieved in each case. Artifacts were large catheter. Conclusions. will pose increased risk patient examined as long safety guidelines are followed, which includes interrogation post-MRI ensure proper settings. may impact diagnostic if area interest is same or near device.
