摘要: The Nociception Coma Scale is a nociception behaviour observation tool, developed specifically for patients with disorders of consciousness (DOC) due to (acquired) brain injury. Over the years, clinimetric properties NCS and its revised version (NCS-R) have been assessed, but no formal summary these has made. Therefore, we performed systematic review on (i.e. reliability, validity, responsiveness interpretability) NCS(-R). We systematically searched CENTRAL, CINAHL, Embase, PsycInfo Web Science until August 2015. Two reviewers independently selected studies extracted data structured form. Included were appraised quality COSMIN checklist. Eight found eligible Although nearly all lacked sample size calculation, executed by same group authors, methodological ranged from fair excellent. Important aspects construct validity studied in depth sufficient quality. overview this study shows that NCS-R are both valid useful instruments assess nociceptive DOC patients. provide guidance choice cut-off value possible pain treatment cautions awareness interprofessional differences measurements. Significance This provides (-Revised) insights solid evidence-based assessment plan.
