摘要: The vitamin E requirement of growing pigs was estimated on the basis prevention morphological signs deficiency. Five groups were fed a barley-based diet low in that contained 16 mg DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate equivalents/kg and .1 ppm Se for 4 wk (depletion I). This period followed by 7 supplementation, during which received 0, 15, 45, 135 405 supplemental acetate/kg diet. Finally, all animals II). To follow concentration serum tissues, blood samples collected biopsies taken from skeletal muscle, adipose tissue liver throughout experiment. peak value observed liver, then muscle. responded rapidly to changes dietary intake, whereas muscle reacted at slower rate. In spite abundant occurrence different isomers feed, alpha-tocopherol main isomer detected both tissues. activity glutathione peroxidase increased with age but independent concentration. unsupplemented group suffered deficiency syndrome (VESD) an acute or chronic form. A total 31 (16 naturally occurring 15 as supplementation) equivalent 2.5 IU E/g polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) enough prevent development VESD. view large individual variations target organs, obtain certain safety margin VESD pigs, supplement 30 is recommended.
