摘要: Airway remodeling, or structural changes of the airway wall arising from injury and repair, plays an important role in pathophysiology asthma. Remodeling is characterized as involving composition, content, organization many cellular molecular constituents bronchial wall. These can include epithelial injury, subepithelial thickening/fibrosis, smooth muscle hyperplasia, goblet cell hypertrophy angiogenesis. Historically, these are considered a consequence long-standing inflammation. Recent infant child studies, however, suggest that remodeling occurs parallel with inflammation asthmatic subjects. Despite advancements recognition key mechanisms involved there remains paucity information about which treatments interactions most likely to regulate processes. Furthermore, it unclear when best time initiate modify components target, how monitor interventions on remodeling. Indeed, inhaled corticosteroids, generally have limited influence been shown be beneficial studies dose duration treatment were increased prolonged, respectively. Moreover, several identified need identify novel asthma indices phenotypes correlate and, consequence, might specifically respond new therapies, such anti-IgE, anti–IL-5, anti–TNF-α mAbs. Our review will evaluate development subjects effects
