Methadone tapering plus amantadine to detoxify heroin-dependent inpatients with or without an active cocaine use disorder: two randomised controlled trials

摘要: The efficacy of methadone tapering plus amantadine to detoxify heroin-dependent patients with or without an active cocaine use disorder was studied in a closed unit two successive double-blind, placebo-controlled, 14-day trials. In the first trial, 40 inpatients were treated using tapering, as well (200-300 mg per day) placebo. second received same treatment. both trials, did not have statistically significant effect on treatment completion, nor it contribute, completers, more rapid reduction craving and opiate withdrawal. women six times likely than men be non-completers, last day treatment, trial's completers non-completers presented comparable clinical state.
