摘要: Large-scale artificial upwelling was tested as a method to enhance the environmental conditions for growth of non-toxic algae in Norwegian fjord (61°0′N, 6°22′E). The experiment designed evaluate if nutrient-rich seawater, brought up from below mixed zone stratified euphotic by air bubbling, would stimulate relative toxic algae. Pumping 44 m3 min−1 at 1 atm through pipe diffuser submerged 40 m depth formed buoyancy flux that lifted 60 m3 s−1 deep water upper 17 m over period 21 days. supply silicate, inorganic nitrogen and phosphate 10 m increased, significant increase biomass observed. gave an increased dinoflagellates Ceratium furca C. tripos. After termination experiment, phytoplankton decreased significantly, whereas distinct occurred potentially Dinophysis spp. result is considered promising when it comes creating controlled geographical areas with food mussel production.
