摘要: Unilateral incompatibility (UI) manifests as pollen rejection in the pistil, typically when self-incompatible (SI) species are pollinated by self-compatible (SC) relatives. In Solanaceae, UI occurs lack resistance to stylar S-RNases, but other, S-RNase-independent mechanisms exist. Pistils of wild tomato Solanum pennellii LA0716 S-RNase yet reject cultivated (S. lycopersicum, SC) pollen. this cross, results from low expression a farnesyl pyrophosphate synthase gene (FPS2) S. lycopersicum. Using fps2-/- loss-of-function mutants pennellii, we identified pistil factor locus, ui3.1, required for FPS2-based rejection. We mapped ui3.1 an interval containing 108 genes situated on IL 3-3 introgression. This region includes cluster ornithine decarboxylase (ODC2) genes, with four copies versus one Expression ODC2 transcript was 1034-fold higher than lycopersicum styles. odc2-/-knockout or fail fps2 and abolish transmission ratio distortion (TRD) associated FPS2. Pollen express levels FPS2 compatible pistils, incompatible 12-3 x hybrids, which both ui12.1, locus thought encode SI proteins HT-A HT-B. TRD observed F2 points additional ODC2-interacting factors chromosomes. Thus, contribute independent interact genetically ui12.1 strengthen
