摘要: Background/aim: According to Fick's law of diffusion, the rate transepidermal water loss (TEWL) is determined by a barrier component and driving force component. The objective this study propose novel indicators for assessment skin irritation potential from chemicals using these components. Methods: Before after acetone/ether (AE), sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) nicotinic acid methyl ester (NME) treatments, apparent mass transfer coefficient water, K, stratum corneum (SC) vapor pressure, Pd, at interface between SC epidermis were estimated as measures force, respectively. Results: After AE treatment, K showed marked increase Pd remained approximately constant. All participants reacted NME with erythema laser-Doppler flowmetry (LDF) value peaked around 30 min. While there was change in which parallels LDF changes, little variation. Repeated SLS treatment induced slight besides an K. In meantime, all subtle erythema. Conclusions: Our results suggest that not only but also determines variations TEWL rates during irritant tests. Together, will provide us invaluable information about condition.
