摘要: Palm oil processing operation is invariably accompanied by palm mill effluent (POME) considered to be an environmental pollutant. While anaerobic digestion and the present tertiary treatment technologies of POME are able meet current regulatory discharge requirement biological oxygen demand (BOD) 100 mg litre -1 - limit set Department Environment (DOE) existing unable consistently proposed stringent BOD 20 imposed DOE. This article investigates possibility integrating several bioprocesses for at Malaysian mills transforming into high value- added products; with attainable its final discharge. integrated approach has potential achieving zero-effluent along production biogas, biofertiliser recycled water, in treating industrial wastewater reduce pollution.
