Histone antibodies in systemic lupus erythematosus. A possible diagnostic tool.

摘要: Antibodies to total histones and histone fractions H1, H2a-H4, H2b, H3 were measured in serum samples from 61 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), 33 rheumatoid arthritis, 17 sclerosis, 20 various other diseases by use of a sensitive immunoenzymatic assay. Histone antibodies present 52.4% the SLE whereas only 1 was positive (systemic sclerosis). The presence these not associated any specific clinical manifestations, but correlated activity disease: 87% (20 23) active SLE, particular 9 yet treated, showed antibody 18% (4 22) inactive positive. We believe that measurement would be useful addition laboratory parameters (antinuclear double-stranded DNA circulating immune complexes) for diagnosis progression erythematosus, particularly since they seem appear during or just before onset an phase tend absent remission.
