摘要: A class of borazene polymers was developed which consists a two-dimensional array six-membered rings with the borons adjacent separated by -NH- groups. Pyrolysis these above {approx}1000{degrees}C leads to crystalline graphite-like boron nitride (h-BN). The thermal chemistry thin films one polymer deposited on KOH-etched aluminum examined decomposition mass spectroscopy (TDMS) and gravimetric analysis (TGA) gas evolution found be essentially complete at temperatures less than 400{degrees}C. All products desorb same temperature profile major desorbing species are NH{sub 3} N{sub 2}, consistent loss excess nitrogen hydrogen in polymer, HCI from byproducts synthesis step. Since formation ordered h-BN requires heating order 1000{degrees}C, whereas is roughly 400{degrees}C, it concluded that chemical processes not rate limiting BN ceramic production.
