摘要: A comprehensive screening and confirmatory method was developed for monitoring polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), both as Aroclors individual congeners. This approach incorporates extraction, extract cleanup, analysis modules designed to match cost, time, data quality requirements. Soxhlet, sonication, supercritical fluid, accelerated solvent extractions were evaluated. Carbon chromatographic cleanup procedures used separation of congeners on the basis ortho substitutions, which permitted calculation toxicity equivalents. Individual congener determinations, total histograms, peak comparison techniques Aroclor identification elaborated by using high low resolution mass spectrometric data. procedure based immunoassay Ohmicron PCB RaPID Assay{trademark} kit gave results comparable those obtained gas chromatography with electron capture detection in range 0.40-230 ppm, when appropriate calibrator used. 21 refs., 3 figs., 4 tabs.
