摘要: Wing polyphenism in ants evolved once, 125 million years ago, and has been a key to their amazing evolutionary success. We characterized the expression of several genes within network underlying wing primordia reproductive (winged) sterile (wingless) ant castes. show that is conserved winged castes four species, whereas points interruption wingless are evolutionarily labile. The simultaneous lability conservation development may have played an important role morphological diversification this group be general feature polyphenic evolution plants animals.
