摘要: A comprehensive chemical characterization and oxidative potential (OP) assessment of PM2.5 was carried out at an urban site Budapest between June 2010 May 2013 to investigate the seasonal variability particulate phase air pollutants their activity. Chemical analyses included determination concentration trace elements, major water-soluble inorganic ions carbonaceous fractions (total carbon, organic elemental carbon). The OP assessed by antioxidant depletion using a synthetic respiratory tract lining fluid containing ascorbate, reduced glutathione urate. mean mass (21.0 μg m(-3)) just below 25 m(-3) annual limit value set European Commission showed pattern with higher levels during winter. On average, 84% gravimetric could be reconstructed measurements. Organic matter secondary were most dominant constituents contributing 40 29% its mass, respectively. Changes in yearly concentrations not identified for investigated compounds 2013. Temporal differences both ascorbate oxidation observed 3-year long sampling period; however, no clear trend apparent. metrics associated mainly traffic-related elements; other PM sources (i.e., long-range transport, aerosol formation) also contribute Budapest. weak correlation suggests possibility as additional metric epidemiology.
