摘要: OBJECT Choroid plexus papillomas (CPPs) are rare neoplasms, often found in the atrium of lateral ventricle infants, and cause overproduction hydrocephalus. The extensive vascularity medially located blood supply these tumors, coupled with young age patients, can make prevention loss challenging. Preoperative embolization has been advocated to reduce prevent need for transfusion, but this mandates radiation exposure additional risks vessel injury stroke. For reasons, authors present their experience using superior parietal lobule approach CPPs without adjunct therapy. METHODS A retrospective review was conducted all children who presented Columbia University/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital New York a CPP underwent surgery preoperative embolization. RESULTS Nine were included, median 7 months. There no perioperative complications or new neurological deficits. All patients had intraoperative less than 100 ml, mean minimum hematocrit 26.9% (range 19.6%-36.2%). No required transfusion. follow-up 39 months, during which time patient demonstrated residual recurrent tumor on MRI, nor did any have an increase ventricular size require CSF diversion. CONCLUSIONS is safe effective very ventricle. results suggest that not essential avoid transfusion achieve overall good outcomes patients. This management strategy avoids associated
