摘要: It is known that fatigue cracks are one of the most important problems mechanical components, since their propagation can cause severe loss, both personal and economic. So, it essential to know deeply behavior cracked element have tools allow predicting breakage before happens. The shafts elements specially affected by described problem, because they subjected alternative compression tension stresses. This work presents, firstly, an analytical expression allows determining first four natural frequencies bending vibration a nonrotating shaft, assumed as Euler–Bernoulli beam, with circular cross section under pinned-pinned conditions, taking into account elliptical shape crack. Second, once direct problem known, inverse approached. Genetic Algorithm technique has been used estimate crack parameters assuming shaft.
