Optimization of tribological parameters over WC-12%Co laser alloyed pearlitic ductile iron using Taguchi based Grey relational analysis

摘要: Pearlitic ductile irons (PDIs) are used in transportation and nuclear energy industries. In heavy loading situation, the service life of PDI is affected by numerous tribo aspects. this study, surface alloyed with WC-12%Co powder using a high power fibre laser. The wear properties base material laser alloying samples were investigated tribometer various parameters, i.e., temperature, load sliding speed. Based on experimental test, has maximum percentage contribution followed speed working temperature. optimized tribological parameters Grey relational analysis (GRA) established those values closely matched predicted values. Besides, surfaces examined through Vickers hardness machine, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) roughness tester. altered specimen shows no defects improves than substrates. identified optimal 30 N, 0.5 m/s temperature 300 °C, 200 °C for metal samples, respectively.
