摘要: Fertility and health traits are of prime importance in dairy breeding programs. However, these generally complex, difficult to record, lowly heritable (<0.10), thereby hampering genetic improvement disease resistance fertility. Hence, indicators useful the prediction merit for fertility as long they easier measure than direct fitness traits, heritable, genetically correlated. Considering that changes (fine) milk composition over a lactation reflect physiological status cow, mid-infrared (MIR) analysis opens door wide range potential indicator health. Previous studies investigated phenotypic relationships between MIR-predicted phenotypes, most being related negative postpartum energy balance body fat mobilization (e.g., fat:protein ratio, urea, fatty acids profile). Results showed combination various acid C18:1 cis-9 C10:0) could be used improve Furthermore, occurrence (sub)clinical ketosis has been milk-based phenotypes such acids, ketone bodies. acetone β-hydroxybutyrate contents cows less susceptible ketosis. Although investigating association among mastitis scarce, potentially predicted by MIR spectrometry, worthy consideration. These include response cow lactoferrin), reduced secretory activity casein), alteration blood-milk barrier minerals). Moreover, should further considered. To conclude, have role play warranted (1) grasp underlying associations (2) estimate parameters, (3) broader strategies.
