摘要: The central belief in lean systems (LS) is that the implementation of practices will reduce different type wastes. However, LS implemented without an evaluation organisational readiness may lead to failure. In this study, a measurement framework evaluate (LR) and within Kuwaiti small medium-sized manufacturing industries (K-SMMIs) has been developed. This encompasses quality management related (processes; planning control; human resources (HR); top leadership; customer relations; supplier relations) assess K-SMMIs determine whether they have foundation implement LS. Mixed methods are adopted including quantitative approaches (questionnaire administered 50 K SMMIs structured observation conducted 27 K-SMMIs), qualitative (two case studies (observation semi-structured interviews with staff various levels), managers 26 experts). addition, comprehensive literature review carried out. findings indicate current not very supportive towards LS. Many factors revealed, both external internal, affect respect readiness, language barriers, deficiencies aspects workers terms education skills; technology; government attention; know-how regarding LS; market competitiveness; urgency for adopting LS.
