摘要: Coastal marine ecosystems continue to suffer unrelenting pressures from human population growth, increased development, and climate change. Moreover, these systems’ capacity for self-repair is declining with such increases in anthropogenic production of various pollutants. What the present health status or condition coastal ecosystem? If our areas are unhealthy, which conditions considered serious? To answer questions, United States, Canada, Australia currently assessing ecosystem using systematic monitoring programs as well identifying implementing management plans improve degraded ecosystems. evaluate environments, Korea a limited number factors estimate water quality. In fact, we ill-prepared because no biologically specific criteria place measure responses We should select ecosystem-specific indicators physicochemical stressors subsequent biological within each ecosystem. Furthermore, set practical be generated by considering characteristics uses local area key issues at hand. The values presented indices that allow understanding general public practitioners, policy makers, environmental managers other stakeholders.
