摘要: Annona squamosa Linn., family Annonaceae, is said to show varied medicinal effects, including insecticide, antiovulatory and abortifacient. The purpose of present study was investigate if A. seed aqueous extract, in doses higher than that popularly used provoke abortion, interferes with reproductive performance, correlate the ingestion this extract possible alterations rat embryonic implantation. Doses 300 mg/kg (Treated Group I, n = 17) 600 II, 12) body wt. were administered by gavage, during days 1 5 pregnancy (preimplantation period). control group (n 13) received water same manner, period for comparison experimental groups. animals euthanized on day 10 pregnancy. Treatment dams preimplantation showed no signs toxicity, alteration corpora lutea, implantations embryo terms development numbers. percentage postimplantation losses treated groups I II did not differ from those control. seeds caused morphological change endometrium. absence uterine epithelial cells permitted a viable implantation, as verified number embryos at Thus, interfere performance pregnant rats.
