From embryonic stem cells to testicular germ cell cancer-- should we be concerned?

摘要: Since the discovery of testicular carcinoma in situ (CIS) - precursor cell for vast majority germ tumours it has been proposed that CIS cells could be derived from transformed primordial or gonocytes. Here, we review recent discoveries not only substantiating initial hypothesis but also indicating have a striking phenotypic similarity to embryonic stem (ESC). Many cancers originate tissue-specific [so-called 'cancer cells' (CSC)] and argue may very good example CSC, with exceptional features due retention pluripotency. In addition, considering fact pre-invasive are early fetal cells, possibly environmentally induced alterations niche, discuss potential risks linked uncontrolled therapeutic use ESC.
