摘要: For many years our laboratory has been concerned with the unique effect of L-tryptophan on rat hepatic protein synthesis (Sidransky, 1985). Tryptophan administered alone, but not an administration other single essential amino acids, induced a stimulatory response in mice and rats as measured vivo or vitro(Sidransky, 1985; Sydransky et al., 1967; Sidransky 1968). Other laboratories have confirmed findings (Pronezuk 1968; Cammarano Rothschild 1969; Oravec Sourkes, 1970; Park 1973; Jorgensen Majumdar, 1975; 1982). Subsequent studies from enabled us to gain much insight into mechanism/s by which stimulates synthesis. Many these will be reviewed subsequent section.
